Who creates the Explorer Stories?

Our very own Explorers do! Unlike traditional media, we don’t use secondary sources for our stories. We allow our Explorers to write their own stories ensuring authentic first-hand accounts of their adventures. We offer questions during our interview as guides to help the Explorer through the process, but ultimately, they have freedom of expression and to write what feels most natural to them.

What does it take to become an Explorer?

Becoming one of our Explorers is simple. All you need is to have an interest in some outdoor pursuit and a willingness to share your experiences with us. Whether your story is from long ago, or a more recent venture, we're happy to hear from you.

Does The Roamers Trail make a profit from Explorer’s stories?

No. It actually costs us money, but we don't mind!

Are Explorers paid to share their stories?

No, our explorers are not paid to share their stories. Which is what makes them all the more remarkable and brave individuals.

What is the purpose of The Roamers Trail?

The act of sharing stories is an ancient human tradition and serves as a fundamental means of connecting, understanding, learning, and finding meaning - both for the storyteller and the audience. It is a quintessential part of the human experience. With this statement in mind, by sharing our Explorer's experiences, we hope to ignite a spark within our audience, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and embark on their incredible journeys.

How are stories obtained from Explorers?

Once we have met an Explorer and they have agreed to share their story; we begin by designing interview-styled questions. Our questions are asked through Google Docs. However, we are open to all forms of communication that best suit the Explorer.

Our questions begin by asking our explorers about their early life, following this, their current outdoor passion. While we do ask some very specific questions of our Explorer, we always encourage our Explorer to write freely and authentically if they feel our questions do not represent the story they want to share. We never publish an Explorer’s story without their full consent which is obtained before publishing.

Where is The Roamers Trail located?

The Roamers Trail is a Brisbane, Queensland, Australian-based organisation. However, we accept Explorer’s from all over the globe.

What is the age requirement to become an Explorer?

We have no age limits; however, minors need parental/guardians’ permission.
